The World Tour continues…

As you may well know, I play bass with The Proctors. I’m a band whore, I know. I saw them at London Popfest last year and remember being all ”This is the best band I’ve ever SEEN!!”. And now I play with them. Funny how things turn out.

Anyway. We went to Paris the other week. And I think I speak for all of us when I say we had a cracking time! A massive thankyou to Another Sunny Night for having us, you guys are magnificent (popstar sitters and indiepop tourist guides!) and it was a real honour to play your night! We played with 14 Iced Bears and I will always remember them as the only indiepop band to have a drum solo in their set. Wicked.

Next stop: New York City Popfest. Hopefully we will have an album by then, but who knows? I’m quite excited about seeing quite a lot of the bands. Some I’ve seen before (like always adorable The Smittens, Making Marks, Zipper, The School, Tigercats…), some I haven’t (Ringo Deathstarr, Ski Lodge, The Orange Peels and French Films). I want to see as many bands as possible but knowing me, I will be drinking beer outside, gossiping the festival away… Luckily, the excellent popfest people have made a Spotify list, so I know what bands I’ve missed when I come home.

Here’s a Paris picture of me, Ade and Gavin’s shoes (I’m glad I’m not in the same picture as Margaret because then you will realise she dresses much better than I do!). I don’t know who took it, but I found it on Another Sunny Night’s facebook.

Last Week’s Memoir

Dear everyone.

Last Week’s Memoir is an awesome site/blog/collaboration project combining short stories with beautiful artwork. And they’ve just published my very first English short story Full Moon Picnic. I am incredibly pleased. Please read it, and all other short stories there. All amazing.

Full-Moon

New single!

Hello everyone.

I have been quite busy practising with my other bands, finishing Satan & Megastars debut album and planning world domination, but last weekend I had some spare time, so me and Adam recorded that song… Thanks to Silja for coming up with the title ”Every year until we die”, thanks to David for falling asleep outside his tent, and thanks to everyone who’s in the video. Especially the owl. He was great.

Watch the video here.

everyyear

If you like it, you can always download it from Cath ‘n’ Dad Records. If you do, the proceeds will go to Midland Railway Trust, because they let us get drunk and dance around in their home every year. Thank you!

The Disposables

I just came back from Bristol and an absolute brilliant weekend! I played with Horowitz and T.O.Y.S at a Big Pink Cake event, and for the first time I had A BAND!! I call them The Disposables and they are very very very good. Here is a picture.

So we’ve got Thom (from Understudies and A Fine Day For Sailing and Horses Of Instruction) on guitar, and Adam (from T.O.Y.S and Wednesday Club and Manhattan Love Suicides) on JimiHendrixy solo guitar and Adrian (from The Proctors) on drums. What an all star band.

We will soon be joined by my brother Matt, of course. He had to go to Sweden for this gig and I missed him. On the other hand, he is going to be so incredibly happy when he comes back and gets to play with these awesome people.

So, indiepoppromoters of the world, unite and get booking!

Spotify!

You can now listen to me on Spotify! YAY!

To celebrate, I’m supporting T.O.Y.S and Horowitz in Bristol on Friday 25th January. Wow, two of my favourite bands and me!!! I’ll let you know how it goes (it is me on the poster btw).

S&M

Another band from the Lisa Bouvier Family.

You should watch all our videos. Just click the picture. Debut album soon here etc (if someone wants to release it on vinyl that is…)

DEBUT ALBUM OUT NOW!

DOWNLOAD IT HERE!

This is what my awesome label wrote about me:

Bang! Lisa Bouvier explodes onto a scene that is barely ready for her!

This is sparkling indiepop made by a Swedish chanteuse. ”What‽ that’s not possible…”, you say? No matter.

Lisa swings, she sways, she gets stuck in your head!
This is an album made a million years ago. This is an album made of the summer. This is an album to cheer you on, to make you dance, to party on the rainy days…

Quoth Lisa,

”Don’t Bogart my Love,”

Very well we won’t. Go spread the news.

Popkollo.

It has to start somewhere. For me, it started with the opportunity to practise and play live with my first band, Sheeboes. Even though we weren’t very good (to start with! Then we were awesome), we felt like superstars, because there were amazing people behind us telling us we could do it. And we sure could!
These people are now a part of Popkollo. Popkollo started as a music summer camp for girls, and is now a nationwide collaboration of incredible female musicians who support girls all over Sweden in their musical endeavours.
But Popkollo is also so much more than that. It’s about confidence, stepping out of your comfort zone, about supporting each other, about friendship and the love for music and about how everyone can be a rockstar!
I used to be involved, managing one of the camps and helping out on a number of others. Since I now live in the UK, I can no longer be directly involved in Popkollo’s brilliant activities. This is my way of supporting them from a distance. I hope it will work out well. Pay a lot for this album.

Satan & Megastar

My new little project. First two songs with nice arty videos are done. The first one is called London and the second one is called What K can do. Check it out on youtube. Or like us on facebook. Or text me and say that I’m wonderful. Anything goes.

I’m a local celebrity

So very local, I’m not even on their website. But I was on the front page of my local swedish paper Sydostran with this picture.

The article was amazing. I got to state that I love Bruce Springsteen but that I would like to take Tom Waits for dinner. Wouldn’t we all?

Bad Vibrations Presents….

…a lot of bands, but I’m mostly interested in Medusa Snare, where I play drums in high heels. Might be fun to watch.
